If you are an United States Citizen or documented worker who has worked for at least 5 of the last 10 years, the deductions made for your Social Security taxes have been placed into a fund to be paid to you as a monthly income should you become disabled according to the Social Security Administration (SSA) guidelines. As with many government programs you may find the Social Security Disability system frustrating and confusing. The Attorneys at Rodrigues & Mayes, LLC are here to help you navigate this system.

If you are under the age of 65, are disabled, and have sufficient earning credits as determined by the SSA you are entitled to Social Security Disability income (SSD) benefits. If you do not have enough credits to qualify for SSD, you may still qualify for some relief through Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. The amount of SSI payments will depend on the household income and assets.

Although no-one can guarantee that you will be awarded SSDI or SSI benefits, we can assure you that at The Law Offices of Rodrigues & Mayes, LLC we will fully develop your case to ensure that all the necessary paperwork, medical records and reports from your treating physicians, are timely submitted for consideration of your claim, and help you get ready in the event that your case has to go before the Administrative Law Judge at the hearing level.

If you have already applied for SSD (social security disability benefits), and were denied, do not panic. We realize this is a disappointing and stressful event, but keep in mind most claims for SSD or SSI benefits are denied at the initial level. It is also not unusual to be denied at the reconsideration level. Contact the attorneys at Rodrigues & Mayes, and let us assist you in appealing the denial to the hearing level before the Administrative Law Judge.

You can hire The Law Offices of Rodrigues & Mayes, LLC at any stage of your SSD proceeding – initial application, reconsideration, or appeal. Fees are 25% of any past due benefits if you win your case at hearing (without proceeding to Federal District Court), with a maximum fee cap of $6,000. In nearly all cases, we will incur out-of-pocket expenses, which are not part of the attorney fee. These expenses included such things as the cost of obtaining copies of your medical records, conferences with your treating physicians, and other necessary expenses to process your claim. The Law Offices of Rodrigues & Mayes, LLC will advance and pay reasonable costs associated with your claim when necessary to properly prepare your case, and only obligate you to reimbursement if you win your disability claim. If you are disabled, contact Rodrigues & Mayes, LLC for a free consultation, your rights are our concern. We will take the time to educate you regarding the social security system, and then assist you in fighting for your rights.
